Hamilton House Open Day

On the sunny Sunday 9th of June, Hamilton House will throw open its doors for our annual Open Day!

This is an opportunity to sample a few of the amazing things that go on, check out the artists’ studios and see where the magic happens…

Dance Workshops

DMAC UK Dance Studios will be running free dance taster sessions on the day from 12 to 5, including Tango, Ballates, Capoeira, Astanga Yoga, Flamenco and Drumming, and will be performing in the evening in the Canteen. Classes will be totally free and open to everyone, kids and venerables welcome. Each class will run for 45 minutes.

• 2.30 - Drumming
• 3.20 - Capoeira
• 4.10 - Tango
• 5.00 - Bellyfit

Bike Culture

The Bristol Bike Project will be teaming up with Roll for the Soul – Bristol's community bike café. Once again they'll be working with Coexist's Community Kitchen to bring you hearty veggie food, delicious drinks, and Dr Bike sessions – check-ups and minor bike surgery for donation!

Wellbeing

Our Wellbeing team will be offering taster sessions in various forms of massage and plying their amazing skills in a cosy chill-out space. The amazing Love Chefs will be accompanying them to provide you with exquisite and delicious healthy treats while you relax and take in the vibes.

Artists Studios

You’ll also get access to go and visit artist studios and explore the warrens and corridors of creativity throughout the building.

The Canteen

Amongst various musical delights The Canteen will be presenting Hillfolk Noir from the states and providing some sizzle on the front deck with a BBQ from 5pm. hillfolknoir.com

In House

The Open day will be the culmination of our inaugural pop-up shop In-House. Staffed by the artists and displaying a range of amazing creations, In House

Cinema Space

Our Community Arts Space will play host to screenings of artists’ work, films from a myriad of incredible projects within the building and showcasing the amazing festivals that are organised from within our walls. Watch this space for more details!

'What do you want from Coexist in 2013?'

The Coexist AGM is a golden opportunity for YOU the people of our community, in Hamilton House or Bristol wide, to contribute your ideas, solutions and preferences to Coexist's aims and objectives for 2013. Therefore we would like to encourage and welcome you to make your mark on this day, to take part, share openly your feedback, challenges, successes, solutions and ideas for the benefit of Coexistence next year.

Below is the format for the afternoon:

1pm: TENANTS LUNCH: (Events space) 

There will be a beautiful lunch provided by our in-house Kino Chef Jenny and her amazing team of volunteers to warm the community spirit.

1.30pm: COEXIST TEAM PRESENTATION. (Conference space 5th Floor)

Do you know the full diversity of amazing things that Coexist does? There will be a short presentation to inform you of the challenges and successes of 2012

1.45pm: OPEN SPACE:

A break-out session where you can ask questions and contribute to different areas of the project.

Finish: 2.30pm
